Good Ad!

This is my redesign of the bad ad. I changed the alignment, the picture, contrast, and fonts. I used a center alignment, except for the picture and the contact and address information. I tied the colors in the cornucopia to the words. This brought the ad together. The outline is the same color as the cornucopia basket because without it, the ad was a little bland.

This ad looks great! I really like the image you chose, it completes the "Ye Olde Fair" theme and is very colorful. The placement of it also works really well with the alignment and format. I also like how you used the colors in the image up at the top in the "Cooking, dancing...etc" it pulls the ad together nicely. One thing I would probably change is the placement of the location and prices, maybe i would have flipped them. Also the text in the middle "Colonial fair featuring..." is surrounded by white space and i am not really sure what it is saying or referring to, it's not bad but maybe just some rearranging could fix it. Also, i really like your border and the choice of color, that also pulls the ad together nicely. Great job!

  2. Your ad is definitely a huge improvement from the first one. The cartoon-ish style of the picture you chose fits very well with the text, while the colors in it fit well with the words below the title. The frame matches with the cornucopia, but I think that the ad may have been better without it, because a border like that might look awkward on a piece of paper, and also because it detracts from the overall simplicity of the ad. You did a great job of showing what in your ad was important, but the 'hear ye, hear ye' at the top is somewhat lost because the first thing you see is the title. The other thing in your ad which could be improved is the alignment, because it is somewhat inconsistent. The center alignment of everything but the when and where information visually pushes that end info to the side and out of importance. I think you did a very good job on this ad. It is simple, matches colors very well, and is eye catching but not overly colorful. While it has room for improvement, it is definitely better than the original, and a great job overall.

  3. HI Hadley!
I agree with Maria that yours is such an improvement from the first one. I really like how the picture fits in really well with the text and how it doesn't look out of place at all. The only thing is that the colonial fair featuring part looks a little bit out of place and it seems awkward. The contrast of the different colors in the top looks really nice and it catches my eye well. I also would have changed the size of the 7th annual and the actually title because they're almost the same size, but not quite which looks a little bit odd. Overall you did a really great job!

  4. Hey Hadley!
I agree with June and Maria that this ad is a good improvement, I really like the picture and how it matches the time period. I also really like how you matched the colors and the picture which makes it really nice. The only thing i would change is (Like June said) the colonial fair because it seems to just be stuck in there. Also the hear ye hear ye can might be a little bit smaller because it seems to distract from the 7th annual and the title of the fair. Other than that, it seems really good!! I love it!
